The DGT is going to change some of the regulations that were taken for granted when riding a motorcycle on the road.The traffic regulatory body in Spain is going to implement a series of measures for motorcycle users that will change many of the dynamics that are used today. Motocross Helmet
First of all, the helmets.The DGT is going to limit the types of helmets that can be used when riding a motorcycle.Beyond allowing, logically, only those that are approved, it will not allow the use of helmets that leave the face, chin or neck unprotected.In other words, as soon as this DGT measure comes into effect, Jet-type helmets, one of the most used by shared motorcycles or by users in the city, will become prohibited on the road.
And what helmets will be allowed?The integral ones or the modular integral ones, as long as they are approved according to European regulations.That is, the use of helmets that cover the entire head, including the nape of the neck and chin, will be permitted in circulation.And although modular helmets allow that part to be exposed to the air when they are “open”, they offer greater protection than jet-type helmets.
The use of gloves will also be mandatory when riding a motorcycle.However, there is one caveat to the new regulations, both for the type of helmet and for the use of gloves on a motorcycle: it will only be applied compulsorily when riding on the road, since the current obligations are maintained on urban roads.
It is not the only change that the DGT has underway for motorcycle drivers: the General Directorate of Traffic wants to implement an additional course for driving 125 cc motorcycles.To ride these models it is not necessary to obtain an additional license if you already have a car license and as long as the power of the motorcycle is 11kW (14.96 HP) or less.However, the change in the DGT could mean the need to take an additional course to drive this type of motorcycle.
