Lorain County homeowners invited to informational sessions about home sewage treatment systems – Morning Journal

This spring, Lorain County Public Health will host informational sessions for homeowners to learn about the operation and maintenance program for home sewage treatment systems, according to a news release.

At these informational sessions, Lorain County Public Health will share when the program will begin, and what homeowners need to know, the release said.

As the Operations and Maintenance program begins, Lorain County Public Health encourages homeowners with a system to attend one informational session.

Sessions will run from 6-8 p.m. with the following date options:

• April 12 at Open Door Christian Schools, 8287 W. Ridge Road in Elyria

• April 19 at New Russia Township Hall, 46300 Butternut Ridge Road in Oberlin

• April 26 at Columbia Middle School, 13646 W River Road in Columbia Station

• May 3 at Wellington High School, 629 N. Main St. in Wellington

“Lorain County Public Health works to protect people and the environment by making sure that sewage systems are operating as designed,” said Mark Adams, Lorain County Public Health commissioner. “The goal of the O&M program is to protect local waterways from high bacteria counts and other pollution from improperly maintained systems.”
