Determined thieves in Oklahoma pulled off the "very difficult task" of stealing an ATM by first plundering the right tool for the job, police said.
Oklahoma City Police (OCP) responded Tuesday morning to the Tinker Federal Credit Union, KFOR reported. Where an ATM once stood, there was nothing left but stray wires and busted parts. Beehive Loader
“Those things are hard to steal. They’re very heavy,” Msgt. Gary Knight told the local outlet.
As perplexed police pondered how suspects pulled off the heavy heist, an investigation revealed the thieves used a stolen forklift that they abandoned in the parking lot.
“Somebody had actually used this forklift to ram the ATM, trying to knock it loose from its mountings and then ultimately haul the ATM away,” Knight said, per KFOR.
