One of the largest pet retail stores in the U.S. is holding a weekend-long grand opening of its Auburn location starting on Saturday.
will be welcoming the Auburn-Opelika community to its new location with a weekend-long grand opening that will include giveaways, raffles and complimentary services for new customers.
The new store, which opened on Oct. 20, is located at 1716 Opelika Road Suite 10 in Auburn, Ala. and offers a variety of product choices for pet owners, full-service grooming, self-wash pet stations and a knowledgeable pet care team. The store will be open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and then on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To celebrate the grand opening, on Saturday Nov. 4, the store will be offering complimentary self-service pet washes and nail trims. There will also be giveaways, adoptable pets, food and drinks while mystery scratch cards between $5 and $10 will be given to customers throughout the day. On Sunday, the first 100 customers at the store will receive a free small bag of either dog or cat food.
Throughout the weekend, customers will have a chance to enter the locations grand opening raffle. The raffles will be for either a $250, $100 or $50 gift card to the store along with a $10 coupon for everyone who enters the raffle. Customers can enter the raffle by texting auburn to 34653 or by visiting the raffle page online.
The new Auburn store is owned by AVMH Ventures, LLC, which is a group of franchisees that operates 29 Pet Supplies Plus locations nationwide. The group led by Dr. Steve Whatley, a veterinarian that owns four veterinary hospitals and has over 25 of experience, and Richard Warren, an entrepreneur with 30 years of experience growing companies.
“Working with Pet Supplies Plus has allowed us to broaden the reach of quality, affordable pet supplies across America, and it has been an incredible journey,” Warren said. “Bringing Pet Supplies Plus to Auburn is a milestone we're thrilled to achieve, and we're excited to cater to the needs of pet parents in this community.”
The location will offering a wide variety of pet foods, goods, and services while also allowing pet parents to shop with their dogs in the store, according to a news release from Pet Supplies Plus. Each member of the Pet Supplies Plus pet care team is trained in the ares of natural and holistic foods, meaning they can answer a broad range of questions about several pets.
The news release also expressed AVMH Ventures' commitment to playing a vital role as a community partner in the Auburn-Opelika area.
"A priority to every store AVMH Ventures owns is being a true community partner through adoption events, fundraisers and aligning with surrounding local businesses," the news release said. "With their newest store, Dr. Whatley and Warren will coordinate with local animal shelters, rescue organizations and non-profits in the Auburn community."
