Mobiles kept secretly on the jail premises could be easily traced with the help of this highly advanced technology. Any prisoner using mobile phones secretly inside the jail could be detected with the modern device easily.

NLJD is a device that illuminates a small region of space with high-frequency RF energy. The detector has a sensitive receiver and appropriate processing and displays. An NLJD is correspondingly capable of detecting almost any unshielded electronic device containing semiconductors, whether the electronics are actively powered or not. Even the switched off mobile phones and phones without SIM cards could be traced with NLJD.

“NLJD will detect any kind of electronic device like mobile phone, camera, spy camera, audio recorder etc. Any electronic device having circuit could be detected by NLJD. Besides, any metal substance could also be detected through NLJD,” said the Superintendent of Berhampur Circle Jail.
