Inland’s first Wing Zone opens Thursday, Feb. 9 in Redlands – Redlands Daily Facts

Just in time for Super Bowl Sunday, the owners of the Inland Empire’s first Wing Zone expect to have it up and running.

The store is in the Redlands Village shopping center anchored by Stater Bros. It has taken over space that was once occupied by Major Brain Freeze, a frozen yogurt shop.

It will open its doors at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, said franchisee Fernando Airada.

Based in Las Vegas, Wing Zone is built for speed, Airada said in a phone interview. It serves bone-in and boneless wings and chicken tenders with 18 flavors of sauces and rubs ranging from tame to Nuclear Habanero, according to a news release. Airada said it can prepare an order and have it waiting for customers on heated shelves in four to seven minutes.

The store also serves fries, veggie sticks and funnel cake fries.

Prices start at $5.99 for six wings and $11.99 for a combo. Packs with 20 to 60 wings cost $31.99-$89.99 and $23.99-$65.99 for boneless.

Airada said he will add chicken sandwiches and fried pickles to the menu on Monday, after the Super Bowl rush.

Americans are expected to eat 1.45 billion chicken wings during Super Bowl weekend, according to the National Chicken Council.

Customers at the Redlands Wing Zone can get six free wings with their first order by texting WINGIE to 69019, according to a commercial for the store on YouTube.

Wing Zone is owned by Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. Both chains plan on growing through franchising this year, but currently Wing Zone only has one other brick-and-mortar location in Southern California. It opened in November in Santa Clarita.

Wing Zone’s Redlands address is at 1755 E Lugonia Ave. Its hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
