WHEN taking into account that the Building Construction industry accounts to $400.42m of output/total sales across the Greater Shepparton region alone, it is no secret that the sector is one of the largest economic contributors within the Goulburn Valley.
Having been in operation in Shepparton since 1988, family owned and operated business, Steeline, is not only boosting the region’s employment through its 26 staff, inclusive of seven local apprentices, but is also responsible for further enhancing the economic input and output of the Infrastructure, Construction and Development sectors through manufacturing all of its materials locally and supporting domestic builders through the supply of material and installation of the product. Recently, Steeline has been involved in large scale local projects, including the new BP, 7-Eleven and childcare centre on Benalla Road.
Steeline Shepparton branch manager, Travis Ryan said, “As well as the new Benalla Road projects, we have also supplied and installed the cladding for the new Reece building. We are always pleased to have the opportunity to support local projects.
“The local region has survived a very trying time in the last few years. Local businesses need to continue to support each other and local people to help the region continue to expand and grow.”
Moreover, Steeline is making significant investments for innovative expansion of its product range through a new post and rail machine for fencing, two new euro panel machines that work with all new types of custom cladding entering the market and is also commissioning a new purlin mill that is set to be operational this month.
Travis said, “As well as our new equipment, we are striving to continue employing more apprentices and expanding our workforce, and we also have shed manufacturing coming online.”
